JADE MUSEUM
In 2003, we first opened the doors to our Mesoamerican Jade Museum, where we proudly display more than 70 pieces from the four most representative Mesoamerican cultures of their time: Mokaya, Olmec, Mayan, and Aztec.
Today, our collection features original sculptures and replicas delicately and painstakingly carved by our local artisans. The selection of pieces and their historical background allows us to take you on a wonderful journey through time, where you can appreciate and value what our ancestors called “The Stone of Heaven.” Through the use of your senses, you can discover jade in its natural state and appreciate the diverse colors and tones that make Guatemalan jade so unique and different.
You’ll also be able to experience the creation process of true works of art crafted by talented Guatemalan artisans and delight in the mysteries of the Mayan world.
At Casa del Jade, we are authorized by the Guatemalan Ministry of Culture to create replicas of various archaeological pieces, using the same techniques used by our ancestors. If you are a lover and collector of Mesoamerican cultures, we invite you to learn more about each of these pieces.
About the Museum
From the beginning, we have sought to ensure that our museum not only conveys historical information but also serves as a tool to express our admiration and identity for the wonderful Guatemalan culture. To ensure you experience this same passion, we have worked hard training our staff in five different languages: English, Spanish, Italian, German, and French. We are always motivated to give you the welcome you deserve and make you feel at home.
